§ 4-11. Restraint of dogs.

  • (a)

    All persons who are the owners or custodians of dogs within the corporate limits of the town shall, at all times, keep the dog on the owner's or custodian's property or under immediate control by keeping the dog on a leash or otherwise restrained.

    (b)

    All persons who are the owners or custodians of dogs within the corporate limits of the town shall, at all times, take all appropriate and necessary steps to maintain the dog on the owner's or custodian's property or to confine, restrict or pen said dogs so as not to violate the provisions of this section. Any person who permits his dog to run at large or remain unconfined, unrestricted, or not penned up shall be deemed to have violated the provisions of this section.

    (c)

    Any person who violates or fails to comply with any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class 4 misdemeanor and fined an amount of not more than $250.00.
