§ 2-99. Accountability for town property.

  • Every officer of the town, when entering upon the discharge of his official duties, shall file with the town clerk an itemized receipt for all personal property furnished to him by the town, specifying, in detail, its cost or estimated value. He shall also be responsible for the safekeeping of such property as he may receive from the town and at the expiration of his term of office, shall surrender the same to the town clerk in as good condition as when received by him, reasonable wear and tear excepted.
