§ 2-54. Special meetings.

  • The mayor, or any four members of the council may call a special meeting of the council by reasonable notice prior to such meeting to every member of the council. No business shall be transacted at the special meeting except that for which it shall be called. If the mayor and all the members of the council are present, this provision requiring prior notice for special meetings is waived. Notice of any meeting of council shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act as contained in the Code of Virginia.
