§ 26-60. Prohibited parking.

  • No person shall park or permit to be parked any vehicle within town limits, except in compliance with the directions of a police officer or traffic-control device:

    (1)

    Within 15 feet of any fire hydrant.

    (2)

    Within 15 feet in either direction of the entrance to a fire station, or within 15 feet of the entrance to a building housing rescue squad equipment or ambulances, provided such buildings are plainly designated.

    (3)

    Within 20 feet from the intersection of curblines or, if none, then within 15 feet of the intersection of property lines at an intersection of highways.

    (4)

    In front of any public or private drive.

    (5)

    Atop or blocking any sidewalk or crosswalk.

    (6)

    In an area designated "no parking" by municipal signs and/or yellow painted curbs.

    (7)

    On the roadway side of any vehicle parked at the edge or curb of a street.

    (8)

    Against the flow of traffic on any highway or roadway with marked lanes for traffic.

    (9)

    In excess of any posted time limit.

    (10)

    On a reserved parking space on public property.

    (11)

    Occupying more than one designated parking space. The length, width, or type of vehicle shall affect the foregoing.

    (12)

    In a loading zone or backed to a curb except when actively engaged in loading or unloading.

    (13)

    Parking within designated "fire lane" zones located on privately owned property within the corporate limits, upon written solicitation of the owner of the affected property.
